I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of your telegram of the 23rd ultimo, and to inform you that subject to the approval of the Secretary of State, I will appoint Mr Irving.to be Inspector of Schools in this Colony, such appointment to date from the 1st of May by which date Mr Irving should arrive in Bongkong.
